Turntable.fm is going to revolutionize music. It’s probably the most innovative way to listen to music I come across since I discovered Hype Machine, and it has the potential to change the way you find, listen and share new music. Turntable.fm takes of the experience of listening to the radio, and makes it social.
Imagine tuning into a radio station that plays the music you love (even though you’ve never heard these songs before) and then being able to vote whether you like it or not, and voice your opinions with others listening to the same thing, including the DJ! Then say you think you are better than this DJ and want to get on the radio for song or two. That’s an option! Then people can vote for you, you can vote for them, and become recognized organically. Pretty soon people are tracking to find out when you come and blah blah blah it’s pretty f’ing amazing.
Because it’s only at its inception, I believe it has the potential to be the coolest thing to hit the internet. You can go to Turntable.fm and see why it’s already awesome, but here are some things I think it can improve on:

- Connect it with Hype Machine - Hype Machine is already an phenomenal way to see what’s new in music circling the interwebs. Why not merge, so that instead of uploading new songs to Turntable, you can just access the files that are already on blogs. It will be beneficial to the blog, as well as the catalog of songs available in Turntable. Plus! It could act as a real push for band blogs or websites, because it drags traffic right to the source. This is the way that getting music is head and should be.
- Advertisements based on the artist in the background - Mostly everyone hates ads because their irrelevant because they try to appeal to the masses. And their usually something really annoying. What if while you were listening to the new People Under the Stairs song, and wanted more info about the album or what the band is trying to promote. A banner behind the DJ’s would be perfect, because it’s not too obtrusive and it’s relevant.
- Smartphone apps! - This a give. A portable version of this site would be raw.
That’s all I got on it now. But it’s already the dopest dope. Make sure you check it out. I think I’m going to go on a certain time each week and have my own show. I’ll let you know when I decide to go on, so you can get on DJ with me!!
